More info on Dixon

Dixon came to us as an owner surrender on October 16th 2024, he was severely underweight and had not had proper veterinary care for some time.

He had lived in his previous home for about 10 months when his owner, struggling with a new baby and Dixon (then Birch) pottying in the house, decided to surrender him.

When I took him to the vet to get a checkup he was diagnosed with Lyme disease and treated with Doxycycline for 30 days.

After struggling to get him to gain weight I doubled his food and he started gaining! I also got him tested for Diabetes just in case the weight loss was due to that. He was clear for that. I then decided to treat him for Giardia and Coccidia, He is currently on day 5 of treatment.

While he has been with me I have also been training him, his previous owner stated he had gotten him with a certificate of training but that he had not had success working with him.

It does seem that Dixon has training, I am working with him to polish everything up and training him some new commands (currently all of his original commands but in French).

We are also working on manners for nail trims and general handling.

Dixon is not currently available.
